C# / ASP.Net / VB.Net / SQL Server Developer


Lorton Data is looking for an experienced Software Application Developer. In addition to the required technical competencies, the ideal candidate is also organized, communicative, quality-focused, and team oriented.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Serves as a member of a small team developing and enhancing a variety of industry-transforming applications to support our customers’ data management needs.
  • Consults with internal and external clients to analyze, understand, and document the following: functions to be automated, client needs, desired features, and input and output requirements.
  • Analyzes, defines, and documents system requirements for: data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external Develops and maintains plans outlining steps and time tables for developing, testing, and installing  Converts designs and specifications into code.
  • Writes and maintains documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, corrections, and installation and operating procedures.
  • Generates ad-hoc and programmed reports.
  • Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding problems or questions with programs.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • Minimum of 4 years of related technical and professional experience
  • Bachelors degree
  • Understanding of software methodology
  • Experience with C#, VB.Net, ASP.Net
  • Experience with SQL Server
  • Experience with web application development
  • Experience with HTML and XML
  • Experience with report generation
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  •  Love of learning. Committed to professional development
  • Experience in the database marketing industry a plus
  • FoxPro knowledge a plus
