Processing Tips
Proper Terminology for Duplicate Removal
When requesting that duplicates be removed from your mailing list, it's important to use proper terminology. This will ensure that multiple pieces are not mailed to a particular address.
One Per Person - Matching is based on first name, last name, and address information.
- First names are standardized for matching purposes only. For example: Bill matches with William, Peggy matches with Margaret, etc.
- First names are matched to first initials.
For example: J. Smith matches with John Smith
- One record per unique first and last name and complete address will be retained.
- Priority can be used to specify which record should be retained.
- Output data for retained records is not changed.
One Per Last Name and Address - Matching is based on last name and address information.
- Sometimes referred to as One Per Household
- Residents with different last names at the same address are retained.
- Most hyphenated last names are matched to non-hyphenated last names
For example: John Smith matches with Nancy Nelson-Smith.
- One record per unique last name and complete address will be retained.
- Priority can be used to specify which record should be retained.
- Output data for retained records is not changed.
One Per Address - Matching is based on address information only.
- Last names are only considered on rural route addresses with no box number.
- One record per complete address will be retained.
- Priority can be used to specify which record should be retained.
- Output data for retained records is not changed.

Did You Know?
The USPS is offering a 3% discount to mailers who use a QR Code on their direct mail communications.
QR Codes, short for Quick Response Codes, are a type of 2-D barcode that is becoming increasingly common among marketers looking to put more information at your fingertips. The ability to connect people with relevant content is useful to consumers and to businesses. QR Codes can be used to display text, connect to a website, to make a phone call, deliver a vCard and more. You may have seen QR Codes printed in magazines and brochures, on products and mail, and in many other places. You can scan a QR Code using any smart phone with a QR Code reader installed; QR Code reader applications are free.
This summer, during July and August, the USPS is offering a 3% discount to mailers who use a QR Code on their direct mail communications. The postal service hopes this promotion will highlight the potential to increase response rates by integrating mobile technology with direct mail. For more details on this summer sale, read the USPS fact sheet.

Products and Services
Monthly subscriptions are now available for A-Qua Mailer, our cloud-based suite of direct mail services. These new subscriptions will provide unlimited use of services such as CASS Certified™
ZIP + 4® coding, NCOALink® processing, PAVE™ Certified Presort, duplicate elimination, and more for both commercial and end users.
Monthly subscriptions offer distinct advantages over typical annual fees associated with on-premise mailing software packages. Mailers have an initial lower cost of entry, and budgeting is easier. Monthly subscriptions also enable a mailer to decide whether the services suit their needs 12 times per year, rather than locking them in to annual commitments.
A-Qua Mailer Unlimited Monthly Subscription options include End User Unlimited Processing at $199 per month and Commercial User Unlimited Processing at $398 per month. Discounts are available for 12 month prepayments. Pay-per-Job and Unit subscription pricing options are also available for those customers who only periodically need services. There are no minimum usage requirements.
