NES Footnotes and Descriptions:
A NCOALink™ Match. The input record matched to a NCOALink File record using NCOALink matching rules. A new address is provided.
B Possible Nixie Match. The input record was similar to a NCOALink File record, however a NCOALink match could not be made because of one or more NCOALink matching rules. Additional footnotes are provided to indicate reasons the NCOALink match could not be made.
C No Match Available. The input record was not similar to a NCOALink File record.
D House Number Missing. The input record is missing the house number. NCOALink requires house numbers to match exactly in order to provide new address information.
E Open For Future Use.
F Last Names Do Not Match. The last names on the NCOALink File and input record are similar, but not close enough for a match to be made.
G Individual Move, First Names Do Not Match. On a NCOALink File individual move, the input file first name must match the NCOALink File first name in order for new address information to be provided. The first names do not match on this record.
HTitles Do Not Match. An NCOALink match could not be made because both the input record and the NCOALink record contain a title, such as Jr., Sr., II, or III, and the titles do not match.

I Firm Names Do Not Match. The input record was compared to a firm record, firm names do not match. An NCOALink match could not be made.
J Input File Missing First Name. There is an individual move on the NCOALink File with a similar last name and address. A match could not be made because the input file did not contain a first name or initial.
K Middle Name or Initial Does Not Match. The NCOALink record is for an individual move and the middle name/initial is not the same on the input file.
L Different Gender. The NCOALink record is for an individual move. A match could not be made because the NCOALink File and the input file do not indicate the same gender.
M Missing Box Number. The input record does not contain a box number on a rural route or highway contract (RR/HC) style address and the NCOALink master file contains a box number. Or the NCOALink master file does not contain a box number and the input record does. A match could not be made.
N Address Not Matched. The input record could not match the NCOALink record because of differences in pre-directional, or post-directional, or street suffix.
O Street Names Not Matched. The input record street name was similar to the NCOALink record, but not close
enough to match.
P Multiple Response, No Match. The NCOALink File contained more than one possible match to the input record.

Q Unit Designator Values Not Equal. The unit designator value on the input record does not match the unit designator value on the NCOALink master file (i.e. apartment number, suite number, etc.). A match could not be made.
R Individual Move.
S Firm Move.
T Family Move.
U Apartment Number Missing. The input record does not contain an apartment number on an apartment
address and the NCOALink master file contains an apartment number. Or the NCOALink master file does not contain an apartment number and the input record does. A match could not be made.
V First Name Matches First Initial on an Individual Move. NCOALink matching rules will not allow a first name to match to a first initial on an individual move. No match could be made.
W Transposition of Secondary Number. The last two digits in a "string" are transposed. A match could not be made according to NCOALink matching rules.
X Exceptional Unit Designators Without Unit Designator Value, Not Equal. An NCOALink match could not be made because exceptional unit designators without designator values must be equal (i.e. Front and Rear). Y NCOALink Customer requests Individual Matching Logic. Records do not match because of the name information on a family move. Individual matching logic on all move information is requested. In this case, first name/initial and middle name/initial must match. The footnote indicates that because the individual matching logic was used, amatch could not be made to a family move.
